The Government Springs Fire and Westville Fire have merged and are now one fire, which is located in the Tahoe National Forest within Placer County. The fire is burning in the canyon of the North Fork of the American River and is being managed by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS). Smoke is visible from western Placer County to Lake Tahoe. This fire is part of a series of fires that have been named the American River Complex Wildland Fire. To obtain updated information, please call 530-367-6223, 6224 or 6226.
