Placer County has vacancies for 1st District representatives on its Planning, Parks, and Fish and Game Commissions.
Each of the three commissions has one vacancy for someone to represent the First District, which includes part of the city of Roseville and the unincorporated area west of the city between Baseline Road and the Placer-Sacramento county line.
The county also is looking to fill a vacancy on the five-member Board of Trustees that oversees the Roseville Public Cemetery District.
First District residents interested in filling the vacancies are invited to fill out applications for review by the Placer County Board of Supervisors. First District Supervisor F.C. “Rocky” Rockholm will review the applications and ask the full Board of Supervisors to confirm his recommendations for the vacant positions.
No deadlines have been set for submitting applications, but supervisors hope to fill the vacancies soon.
PLANNING COMMISSION
The seven-member Planning Commission is the principal advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on planning and related matters. Its duties include reviewing and making decisions on major development proposals.
The commission normally meets at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Meetings take place in the Planning Commission Chambers at the Community Development Resource Center, 3091 County Center Drive, in Auburn.
COUNTY PARKS COMMISSION
The seven-member Parks Commission advises the Board of Supervisors on issues related to public recreation projects throughout the county, including those undertaken by the county, school districts and parks and recreation districts. The commission also recommends policy to the county Parks and Ground Division on matters related to parks, trails and open space.
The Parks Commission normally meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month in the Facility Services Department, 1476 C Ave., in Auburn.
FISH AND GAME COMMISSION
The Fish and Game Commission is a seven-member advisory body that advises the Board of Supervisors on issues related to fish and wildlife in Placer County. Its responsibilities include coordinating habitat-improvement efforts and natural resource education.
Meetings generally take place at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month. For the rest of 2008, meetings are scheduled to be held in the Planning Commission Chambers at the Community Development Resource Center, 3091 County Center Drive, in Auburn.
ROSEVILLE PUBLIC CEMETERY DISTRICT
The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the district’s operations.
Meetings generally are held at 5:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. They take place in the board room at the district’s office at 421 Berry St. in Roseville.
