Child Support Services Update

March 28, 2008

On April 1, 2008 the Placer County Department of Child Support Services will be converting to the new statewide California Child Support Automation System (CCSAS) as part of a statewide effort to improve services.

The conversion will take place on Monday, March 31st, and Tuesday, April 1st. The Department of Child Support Services Office will remain open during normal business hours through the conversion period, however there will be some restrictions on the services that can be provided due to the temporary disruptions in computer service. Full services will resume in Placer County on Wednesday, April 2.

Further disruptions to the system will occur for a couple days each month through 2008 as other counties are converted to the new system.

If you have any questions please feel free to call the Placer County Department of Child Support Services at (530) 889-5700 or email childsupport@pldcss.ca.gov.

Placer County is joining the CCSAS as part of the ninth wave of counties to be converted to the new statewide system. Other counties being converted now include Sacramento, Siskiyou, Solano, Modoc and Del Norte. This will be the ninth conversion in a total of sixteen conversion waves that ends in December 2008.  As of April 2, 2008, 36 California counties will be using the new statewide system. This represents 33% of the total statewide caseload.

For more information on CCSAS-CSE, please see the California State Department of Child Support Services website at www.childsup.ca.gov.
