Assistance Available For Businesses Damaged In January Storm
Placer County is one of seven area counties that have been declared a disaster area by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a result of damage caused by the storm that hit the area on Jan. 4, 2008. Unusually high winds during that storm caused damage throughout the region, including the western area of Placer County. The declaration makes available SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans to affected small businesses. Eligible businesses include small, non-farm businesses and small agricultural cooperatives. In addition, businesses which deal directly with growers, such as truckers and suppliers of agricultural equipment and services may be eligible.
If contacting the SBA by phone, callers should reference SBA #11194 – State of California, USDA Designation for Winter Storms and High Winds that occurred January 4, 2008.
