Information on Voter Registration Deadlines, Vote by Mail and Polling Places

Do you want to vote by mail in the upcoming Presidential Election? Make sure your voice is heard and request that your official ballot be mailed to you. Fill out a vote by mail application online by clicking this link: Vote By Mail. Print, complete, sign and mail the application to the Placer County Elections Divsion, PO Box 5278, Auburn, CA 95604. The last day to request a vote by mail ballot is Oct. 28, 2008. If you are already a permanent vote by mail voter you do not need to fill out an application because your ballot will automatically be mailed to you. Other dates regarding the election:
- October 6, 2008: First day vote-by-mail ballots can be mailed.
- October 20, 2008: Last day to register for this election.
Poll workers are needed for the Presidential Election on Nov. 4, 2008. The Elections Division wants YOU! If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a poll worker for the upcoming election fill out an application online by clicking on this link: Precinct Officer/Poll Worker Application, or telephone the Elections Division at 530-886-5667 or toll-free in California at 1-800-824-8683. Groups and clubs can also participate for fundraising. Please contact the Elections Division for details. Participation is the key to developing involved citizens!
Unsure of where you vote for the upcoming Presidential Election? You can find your polling place online and obtain a map by clicking on this link: Polling Places. Your polling place may have changed since the last elections. Please verify your polling place prior to going to the polls on Election Day. Polling place information is also printed on the Sample Ballot, and is mailed to every Placer County voter. The mailing of Sample Ballots began on Sept. 25, 2008.
