The Colfax Library, originially scheduled to close from Tues., Jan. 12 through Mon., Jan. 25, will be closed up to an additional 10 days. The additional closure dates are due to illness, weather and delivery delays. The library is operating next door with a limited colection. Library materials that were not moved next door have been placed in storage. There are fewer Internet computers available, as well. Wireless Internet access should also be available. The Library will operate in this reduced mode until the remodel project is completed, at which time it will close again for a short period of time while the books, materials, furnishings, and equipment are installed in their final locations. It is estimated that it will reopen as a completely remodeled library some time in April.
When the Library reopens, the hours will continue as normal:
- Tuesday 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Wednesday and Thursday, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Friday, Saturday, 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.
A bookdrop will be available at Colfax for returning Library materials but no other services will be available. The closest branch libraries are Applegate, at 18018 Applegate Rd. , 530-878-2721, and Meadow Vista at 16981 Placer Hills Rd. , 530-878-2647. More information about these libraries and any additional updates on the Colfax Library project may be found at the Library’s web site http://www.placer.ca.gov/library .
We are excited that the project has made so much progress and look forward to the grand opening. In the meantime we appreciate the public’s patience during construction. Staff has done a terrific job keeping the Library operating while the project has been moving forward.
