You can help brighten the holidays for Placer County's vulnerable children who are in the County's emergency shelter by making a donation to the shelter. The shelter provides a temporary safe environment for children who have been removed from their current living environment and require immediate care and supervision due to suspected abuse and/or change in foster placement. As part of an integrated system of care, the Emergency Shelter provides an immediate safe environment for children while every effort is used to work with the family, relatives and guardians to have the child returned to their care. The Emergency Shelter is available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week for children needing emergency removal from their home due to suspected physical or sexual abuse, abandonment and/or neglect.

MONETARY DONATIONS Please make checks payable to “Placer Children’s Emergency Shelter”. Such funds can be used for recreation, art supplies, special events, etc.
Another extremely helpful way of contributing is donating Gift Cards from department stores. These allow us to personalize the needs of the children we serve. We will provide a letter documenting your tax-deductible monetary or gift card donation.

TEEN GIRLS (Ages 13-17) Clothing gift certificates, hair supplies for all ethnic hair and skin types, hair dryers, curling irons, arts and craft kits, radios, CD walkmans, writing journals, makeup, hair accessories, Bath-n-Body, puzzles, books, Chicken Soup for the Soul books, backpacks.
TEEN BOYS (Ages 13-17) Sporting equipment, CD walkmans, radios, personal hygiene items for all ethnic skin types, cologne, watches, baseball hats, sports jerseys, athletic wear sporting clothing, hand held games, playing cards, puzzles, organizers, books, backpacks, games, plastic models.
ARTS AND CRAFTS SUPPLIES Child proof scissors, construction paper, butcher block paper, glue sticks, tempera washable paints and brushes, college materials, poster board, stickers, crayons, non-toxic washable markers, Play Doh, pipe cleaners.
GENERAL ACTIVITY and REINFORCMENT ITEMS Videos rated “G”, “PG” and “PG-13”, Durable and washable twin size bed comforters, batteries, gym bags, sporting equipment, Sony PlayStation II CD games, Game Cube games, X-Box games, Gameboy games, puzzles, books, board games, personal radios, backpacks, sport memorabilia, Gift Certificates.
DONATION EXCLUSIONS Due to Health and Safety issues, please no used stuffed toys. Also we do not currently accept any large donations such as cars, boats, RV’s, etc.
