Comment Period Open for Mental Health Plan

June 12, 2009

The public comment period for the Mental Health Service Act (MHSA) Capital Facilities and Technological Needs Overview and Draft Technology Plan will begin June 2, 2009 and remain open until July 1, 2009, according to the Placer County Health and Human Services, Adult System of Care Department. To view the document, click on this link: MHSA Plan .  Then click on "Capital Facilities and Technology Draft Plan".

Placer County is pleased to present the two-part Plan for public review as part of the Mental Health Service Act/Proposition 63 efforts to improve and transform mental health care throughout California. The Capital Facilities and Technological Overview and Plan are one of the seven MHSA component areas that will eventually become one, integrated Placer MHSA Plan.

The County plans to use Capital Facilities and Technological Needs Component funds to support mental health service providers and to invest in a billing/electronic health record system in accordance with the MHSA goal of producing long-term impacts with lasting benefits for the Placer County Mental Health System. The expected timeframe for changing over to an electronic system is 10 years, though most of the infrastructure work will be done in the first three years.

The documents are also available for review in hard copy format at all Placer County libraries and Family Resource Centers or by visiting
