AUBURN, CALIF. – Placer County will conduct a meeting regarding fire debris removal for residents and business owners who suffered losses from the 49 Fire. The meeting will be Wed., Sept. 9, 2009, in the Hearing Room of the Community Development Resource Agency (CDRA) building, 3091 County Center Dr., in Auburn. The meeting will start at 7 p.m.
At the meeting, which will be focused only towards those who have fire loss, representatives from Placer County Environmental Health and other departments will discuss cleanup requirements. Ash and other related fire debris contains hazardous constituents. The debris and ash must be handled with proper protection, including proper protective clothing and equipment. This includes long sleeves and long pants, respirators, such as an N-95 mask, and gloves.
Placer County’s Local Assistance Center, which opened the morning of Tues., Sept. 1, 2009, will close on Thurs., Sept. 3 at 9 p.m. It will reopen on Tues., Sept 8 and remain open through Wed., Sept 9, 2009. The hours will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.. The Center is located in the Placer County Government Center (also known as DeWitt), 11517 F Ave. on the corner 2nd Street and F Avenue, in North Auburn.
