Learn archaeological methods to uncover Placer County's past

Join the Placer County Museum staff at the Bernhard Museum Complex on May 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. to sift through soil for artifacts, excavate a small test pit, and work in the lab where artifacts will be catalogued. Tahoe National Forest archaeologist Nolan Smith will lead the excavation. All the historic artifacts recovered will be accessioned into the Placer County Museums’ collection and will be displayed in a future exhibit.
This free Community Education program is kid-friendly, so the whole family is welcome.
