Placer County is accepting applications from community members interested in serving on the North Auburn Municipal Advisory Council or Horseshoe Bar Municipal Advisory Council.
The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, Jan. 4.
Commonly known as MACs, the county’s 14 municipal advisory councils advise the Board of Supervisors on issues of public interest in unincorporated areas. The councils are charged with gathering public comment on a range of topics, including land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement and public health and safety.
The terms of current members of the North Auburn and Horseshoe Bar MACs are scheduled to end on Jan. 31, 2013.
Current members are being encouraged to apply for reappointment, but both of the MACs likely will have at least one vacant seat that will not be filled by reappointing a current member.
The members of each MAC must reside, be property owners, or be business owners or managers within the MAC’s boundaries.
The seven-member North Auburn MAC normally meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings take place in the Planning Commission Chambers at the Placer County Community Development Resource Agency building, 3091 County Center Drive, in North Auburn.
The Horseshoe Bar MAC is a five-member body that serves unincorporated areas around Loomis. It generally meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every other month in the Loomis Library, 6050 Library Drive in Loomis.
For application forms, call the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office at 530-889-4020 or go to the county website: APPLICATION.
Completed applications should be delivered to the Clerk of the Board’s Office in person or by mail. The office is located at 175 Fulweiler Ave. in Auburn.
The mailing address is 175 Fulweiler Ave., Auburn, CA 95603.
