Franchising Conference to be Held Friday at Thunder Valley is Now Free

February 28, 2012

A franchising conference to be held Friday, March 2 at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln is now being offered free of charge.

The conference will take place from 7:30 a.m. to noon. It is sponsored by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

The target audience includes anyone interested in owning a franchise business in Placer County. Organizers initially planned to charge a registration fee, but are making it a free event thanks to generous support from sponsors.

The event’s planning committee includes representatives from the Placer County Office of Economic Development, city of Roseville Office of Economic Development, city of Lincoln Economic Development Committee, Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce, Sierra College, Drexel University, FranNet West and Nimbus Marketing and Public Relations.

“The conference will be a great chance for individuals and groups to find out more about what it takes to own franchise businesses and where the opportunities are,” said Placer County Economic Development Director David C. Snyder. “We expect at least 10 franchise companies to attend because they want to enter the South Placer market or are looking to expand their presence here.”

He noted the schedule includes time for open networking.

The schedule features a panel discussion titled “A Day in the Life of a Franchisee.” It will be moderated by FranNet West President Cari Lyn Vinci and will include representatives of franchise companies.

The conference also will include presentations on such topics as “A Changed World at Work – Threat or Opportunity,” “How to Find the Right Franchise to Replace/Create a Six-Figure Income” and “Financing Your Franchise Business.”

To register, simply email your name, email address and phone number to Cari Lyn Vinci at cvinci@frannet.com or call (916) 517.1612.
