ROBBERS FIRE: Foresthill Evacuation Center Now Closed

The evacuation center at the Foresthill High School at 23319 Foresthill Road, Foresthill, CA will close at 9:00 a.m. on Wed., July 18, 2012.

For sheltering information, contact the Red Cross at 916-993-7087, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. After hours, call 855-891-7325.

For evacuation-related information, the public and media are urged to call the Placer County Office of Emergency Services at 530-886-5310.



The Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn is the primary shelter location for animals. Horses, small livestock such as goats and sheep, dog, cats, bird and reptiles can be sheltered there.

The address of the fairgrounds is 1273 High Street. Animal owners should enter on Pleasant Street through the unlocked gate. They should not enter on High Street because they could disrupt fire personnel and vehicles.

The Placer County Animal Services Division will have trained personnel onsite 24/7 when animals arrive. Shelter is available at no cost and safe. Owners should bring food, meds and any other special needs.

Offers to transport animals and provide shelter should be directed to Animal Services at 530.886.5500. Assistance is coordinated through Animal Services.  Donations of food and hay can go directly to the shelter at the Auburn Shelter at 11251 B Avenue, Auburn..
