Placer County Supervisors Seek Applicants for Oversight Board
March 15, 2012
The California Legislature recently enacted legislation dissolving all redevelopment agencies in the state. To facilitate the dissolution process, each jurisdiction that had a redevelopment agency must convene an oversight board to supervise the activities of the successor agencies of the former redevelopment agencies.
In Placer County, there will be five oversight boards: one for the county’s successor agency of the former Redevelopment Agency that was responsible for the unincorporated area of the county, and one for the successor agencies of the former redevelopment agencies from the cities of Roseville, Rocklin, Auburn and Lincoln.
The Placer County Board of Supervisors is now seeking applicants for the Oversight Board member seats that the county is responsible for filling. Those seats include one public member for each of the four city oversight boards. Therefore, we are soliciting for applications for the county’s seats on the four city Oversight Boards from residents or business owners of the particular city.
The Board of Supervisors is also responsible for appointing one former employee of the Placer County Redevelopment Agency and one public member to the unincorporated Placer County Oversight Board, a resident or a business owner in the unincorporated area of the county.
The general role of the Oversight Board is to supervise the successor agency’s activities and will exist until all indebtedness of the dissolved redevelopment agencies has been resolved.
The deadline for applying to any of the Oversight Board positions is Fri., March 23, 2012.
