Adult Literacy Program?

The Placer Adult Literacy Service - PALS - is operated by the Placer County Library.

Animal removal?

To arrange the removal of a dead animal or nuisance wild animal, contact the Animal Services office, at 530-889-7315 in Auburn, or 530-546-1990 in the Tahoe area.

County 150th Anniversary?

Placer County was established in April 1851 and celebrated its 150th anniversary from April 2001 to April 2002. Information is available about the county's history and other historical research resources.

County Archives and Research Center?

The Museums Department maintains the Placer County Archives and Research Center .

California Assembly District?

Assigned Counsel Program?

Placer County has an Assigned Counsel Program to provide public defense resources for indigent defendants in cases where the county's contract Public Defender and first level conflict firms are unable to provide such services.

Placer County Superior Courts?

The Courts provide information on their Web pages. They are now a separate state agency. They also provide an email address.

Court case information?

At this time the Superior Courts of Placer County does not offer access to court cases online. There are 2 locations where you can get information on court cases. There are court case information sites both at the Criminal Department at 11562 B Avenue in the DeWitt Center and at the Historic Court House, on the 4th floor in the Civil Department. Dispute resolution?

 

Placer County has a dispute resolution service, Placer Dispute Resolution Service. The service is free to county residents and can help resolve disputes in many areas, including neighborhood disagreements, tenant/landlord disputes, and business problems.

Divorce decree?

Information or a copy of the decree will be available at the Historic County Courthouse , 101 Maple St., Auburn, (530) 889-6550. The Placer County Superior Courts is now a separate state agency, with their own Web site.

Dog license?

The Animal Services Division issues annual dog licenses .

Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee?

 

In response to a recent state law, the Board of Supervisors has established Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee to review proposals and suggest grants for local governmental agencies in the county affected by tribal gaming.

Seniors First, a non-profit agency in Auburn, provides information for Placer County senior residents on a variety of matters. Their phone numbers are 530-889-9500 or 800-878-9222. Their office is located at 13620 Lincoln Way, Suite 370, Auburn, CA 95603, next to the Sizzler restaurant, near the Foresthill exit from I-80. (Seniors First is not part of county government.)

In-Home Help for Seniors?

Placer County has a free program for seniors living at home in the county where a trained volunteer counselor - another senior - will visit a senior at home once a week to talk, counsel and provide companionship. It's called Senior Peer Counseling .
