Public Visiting Times

Auburn Main Jail:
Visitors need to be checked in at the visitation centers 30 minutes before visitation session.

South Placer Jail:

Visitors need to be checked in at the visitation centers 30 minutes before the visitation session for inmates housed in areas that have face-to-face visiting. Inmates housed in areas that have on-site video visiting only, the visitor will need to register and schedule the video visitation 24 hours prior to the visit.

Please Note:

Visitors to D/E/F tanks at the South Placer Jail can use remote visits at the normal cost. For a free visit, visitors must schedule their visit 24 hours in advance. Visitors will need to travel to the South Placer Jail and conduct the visit from one of our VIZ VOX kiosks in the visiting lobby. Visitors need to be checked in at the visiting centers 30 minutes before the visiting session.

Each inmate is allowed two on-site video visits at the South Placer Jail kiosks and two Remote Video Visits for both the South Placer and Auburn Main Jails. These visits may not be taken on the same day. The visiting week begins on Saturday.

Visitors may expedite the check in process by pre-registering as a visitor.

Individual inmate’s visits are one-half hour in length.

Visitors need to be checked in 30 minutes before visitation session.

Inmates may have no more than two visitors per half-hour. The visiting time will be split between the visitors; they may not visit together.

  1. Visitors under the age of 18 will not be allowed, except for children of the inmate. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  2.  Visitors must have valid identification (listed below). Any other type of I.D. must be approved by the Shift Sgt.:  


  • Valid Drivers License with photo.
  • Valid Military I.D with Photo
  • Valid Passport with photo. 
  • Valid Immigration Card
  • Valid California Identification Card with photo


 All visitors will be fully clothed and shoes must be worn.

 The following inappropriate or revealing clothing will not be allowed:

  •  Halter tops, bathing suits
  • Plunging neck lines or sleeveless attire
  • Short shorts, mini skirts

  Loud, boisterous and rude language will not be tolerated during the visit.

  •  Personal visiting phones are monitored and recorded.
  • Visitors may be subject to search by sheriff's personnel of their persons and immediate property while on the premises of the facility at any time.
  • Refusal to submit to search will prohibit or terminate visiting privileges.
