PLACER COUNTY YOUTH COMMISSION

PURPOSE:

The Placer County Youth Commission integrates the youth voice into local policymaking by researching

youth issues and concerns, relating their findings and positions to local policy makers, and engaging the

community to create positive change. The Commission shall organize activities to help educate and

motivate youth of Placer County to participate in the local political process.

COMPOSITION:

The Placer County Youth Commission will consist of fifteen (15) primary members and three (3) alternate

members who shall be youth between 14-21 years of age, except that a youth that has not reached the age

of 14 but is entering the 9th grade may be appointed. There shall be at least one (1) member from each

supervisory district. An individual may sit for a maximum of four full terms, except that anyone who turns

22 years of age during their term may not be re-appointed.

MEETINGS:

September through June

Two evening meetings a month consisting of:

One Commission Business meeting will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:30 pm

in Placer County Board of Supervisors Chambers

One Subcommittee Meeting will be held on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 7:00-9:00 pm location

to be determined.

COMPENSATION:

All members of this commission shall serve without compensation.
