PLANNING COMMISSION

PURPOSE:

Principal advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on planning and related matters; accomplishes its

mission by holding public hearings and making recommendations on proposed general plans, studies and

zoning text amendments, reviewing and making decisions on major land development proposals and by

encouraging citizen leadership and participation in the planning process.

COMPOSITION:

Composed of seven (7) members: One from each Supervisorial District with terms concurrent with the

District Supervisor and appointed by the Board. 2 At-Large members appointed by the Board of

Supervisors; (Ord. 4879-B, 01/20/98) shall be residents of the unincorporated area of the County, one At-

Large member shall reside east of the Sierra Crest with a one year term commencing on 01/01/98 to

01/01/99, thereafter, the term will be for four years. One At-Large member shall reside west of the Sierra

Crest with a term of three years, commencing 01/01/98 to 01/01/01, thereafter, the term will be for four

MEETINGS:

Second and fourth Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Planning Commission Chambers, 3091 County Center

Drive, Auburn, CA 95603.

COMPENSATION:

$100 per diem (Ord. 4085-B) and payment of additional expenses necessary to attend meetings and

perform the duties of office.
