VETERANS ADVISORY COUNCIL |

To act and be an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on all matters pertaining to veterans affairs. To make |
|
recommendations as deemed necessary relative to work of the County Veterans Service Office. To advise and |
|
assist the County Veterans Service Officer in the discharge to the harmony and welfare of the veteran. |
|
Composed of members (usually the Post Service Officer) designated by each post, camp or barracks of each |
|
recognized veterans organization; plus the County Veterans Service Officer who serves as Council secretary b-ut |
|
not a Council member. Members serve 1 year terms with terms ending Aug 31 of each year (Res. 86-347), or |
|
until their successors have been designated and appointed as provided above (County Code Section 2.710). |
|
Second Thursday of each month, at 6:00 p.m. at various locations within the County (announced by Council |
|
Members receive $30 per diem per meeting plus a mileage allowance. |
