Granite Bay MAC Members

Eric Teed-Bose, Granite Bay MAC - Chair

Eric J. Bose and his family live in southeast Granite Bay. An urban planner and real estate developer by trade, Eric has a comprehensive background in local and regional growth issues and methodologies; and has been involved with planning and development across the southwest United States and in International locations. Eric has served on the MAC since 2008 and has been involved with the Community Plan Review Subcommittee

In addition to his involvement with the MAC, Eric was elected in 2010 as a Trustee to the Eureka Union School District Governing Board, and volunteers extensively in the community through coaching with the Eureka Youth Soccer Club, fundraising for the Eureka Schools Foundation, volunteering on various committees and activities with the Eureka Union School District and his Church community, and as a professional musician.

When asked why he wished to serve on the MAC, Eric replied: "To serve our community, by applying my leadership, professional expertise and long term commitment toward making a difference; and to assist in the shaping and preservation of the long-term community visions of Granite Bay."

Walt Pekarsky, Granite Bay MAC Member

Walt Pekarsky has lived in Granite Bay for over twenty years and currently lives in north Granite Bay within walking distance of Folsom Lake. Walt has served on the Eureka School District Site Council and High Achiever program boards and as the President of the Granite Bay High School basketball boosters. He was vice president of Lakeside Little League and managed teams for eight years. He also coached youth basketball in the Granite Bay basketball league and for the Nor-Cal Pharaohs, the premier AAU basketball team in the Sacramento area.

When asked why he serves on the MAC, he replied:

"To serve the community by working to maintain and improve the quality of life offered by our ‘gem on the lake’”

Walt is a US Air Force Academy graduate and flew rescue helicopters during his service. He has a Masters degree in management and has worked in the surgical equipment and device field for 20+ years. His wife Sheryl is a realtor and owns a home staging business; daughter Tara recently graduated from CSUS and works for the River Cats; and son Clint is a freshman business/finance major at the University of San Francisco.

Virg Anderson, Granite Bay MAC Member

Virg Anderson has lived in Granite Bay since 1978, currently residing off of Barton Road between Olive Ranch and Cavitt-Stallman. Since moving to Granite Bay Virg has been very active in the community having been a Fire Fighter for South Placer Fire District, a Board Member for the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, a Scoutmaster for both Boy Scout troops 121 and 48 as well as District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. Virg has served on the Granite Bay MAC for eight years.

When asked why he first applied (and wishes to remain) on the Granite Bay MAC, Virg responded:

“To help the community develop parks and trails.”

Virg is married with three children and three grandchildren.


Dr. Gloria Freeman, Granite Bay MAC Member

Dr. Gloria Freeman has lived in Granite Bay since 1998 living in north Granite Bay by the Los Lagos development off of Auburn-Folsom Gloria is very active in the Granite Bay and Roseville areas as she was in her prior community. She has served on several community groups and service organization committees and boards including Carmichael Park Board, Member Citizens to Protect Carmichael Parks, Member Friends of the Creek, Inc. with Sierra Club to Protect Roseville Trees, Lecturer for Community Crusade against Drugs, National Multiple Sclerosis Society Walk, Carmichael Park Board Member, Member/Volunteer Chamber of Commerce Roseville, Volunteer St. Francis Church/ Landmark Church, Volunteer for Church of Christ at Roseville Armory to Feed the Homeless and Volunteer Camp Counselor Camp Fox Catalina Island.

When asked why she wished to serve on the MAC, Gloria responded:
“I am interested in real estate and development and making sure that it is done in a thoughtful manner. This is to ensure adequate parks and recreational areas and to ensure proper zoning.”

Gloria is the former President of Radback Energy Inc Energy Development Company and is the current President of Staff USA Inc, President/Broker for Premium Access Realty Inc specializing in commercial and land use development and President of www.Celebrate.Us Rocklin Event Center. She is also the author of 32 medical books and has had appearances on radio and TV nationwide including the Montel Williams and Geraldo Rivera Shows on medical topics including drug and substance abuse.


John Thacker, Granite Bay MAC Member

John Thacker has been a resident of Granite Bay since 1973. He is a graduate of Del Oro High School, UC Davis, and the McGeorge School of Law. He and his wife Karen have four children, ages 29, 26, 20, and 16. John has coached/managed numerous teams in both the Eureka Youth Soccer Club and Lakeside Little League. John is an avid fiddler, having twice traveled to Ireland and attended an Irish traditional music camp. He is also a violinist with the Auburn Symphony.

John and Karen are golf enthusiasts, and members of the Granite Bay Golf Club. While in high school, their older son Derek was a member of Granite Bay High’s championship varsity golf team. Andrew, the youngest, also competes in golf for Granite Bay High School.

John believes that he and his family have greatly benefited from the high quality of life Granite Bay provides. John therefore considers service as a MAC member both an honor and an opportunity to contribute to the maintenance of that quality of life. .

Donald De Santis (Ph.D.)

Donald De Santis (Ph.D.) lived in Coronado for many years before moving to the Granite Bay community seven years ago. He is a graduate of Ohio State University (BS), Cal State University LA (MA), University of Southern California (Advanced M.ED and a Ph.D.). Don was honored with a National Outstanding Leadership Award from USC and has a Seminar Room also named in his honor. He has served as president of a Rotary International Club and is currently serving as Secretary/Director of the Los Lagos Homeowners Association. Don has served in the Air Force. He is active in a local church.

When asked why he wished to serve on the MAC, Don responded:

I am interested in helping to improve the quality of life, the identity and Brand name of our Granite Bay Community.

Don has three successful children, Gina, Donald and Dominic who are graduates from USC, Cal Poly and Berkley. He has two grandchildren, Max and Jason.

Suzanne Jones

Suzanne Jones has over 25 years of experience with a mix of local, state and federal government agencies. She serves her community as a small business owner and is a member of various Placer County organizations.

When asked why she wished to serve on the MAC, Suzanne replied:

"I have attended the MAC meeting over several years and wanted to serve as a member of the Municipal Advisory Council."

Suzanne currently serves as a Board Member to the Placer County Office of Education as Trustee Area 2; she is on the Treelake Village Board of Directors and is a member of the CA State Bar Association.
