District 5 - Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery
Placer County Supervisor
Contact Supervisor Montgomery
I would like to thank everyone for supporting my recent re-election as your District 5 Supervisor for another 4 years. I am excited and honored to serve the people of Placer County and I look forward to another term of making a difference in District 5 and Placer County.
As a result of re-districting in 2011, I am now proud to serve the City of Auburn and additional areas of un-incorporated North Auburn, as well as the original communities of District 5.
As your supervisor, I will continue to look for positive changes that will serve our County for years to come. We are now working toward a Regional Sewer Project, and are looking to set policies for potential Middle Fork Project revenues that should add valuable funding to Placer County in 2013 and into the future. We continue to face decisions relating to Biomass, Realignment, Redevelopment Dissolution, and the South Placer Justice Center.
As a former volunteer firefighter and the wife of a professional firefighter, I will work with all stakeholders to aggressively manage our private and public lands for deduced fire danger. As seen in the recent "Robbers Fire" we need to actively work toward fuel reduction efforts and protecting life, property, and our firefighters from the danger of fire in our heavily forested District 5 as well as the rest of Placer County.
District 5 has 7 Municipal Advisory Councils (MACs) which meet on a monthly basis except one that meets quarterly throughout the district. These MACs are an important voice of the community which advise the Board of Supervisors. They meet in North Auburn, Foresthill, Meadow Vista, Colfax, Donner Summit, Squaw Valley, and North Tahoe. For mor information and agendas please visit the District 5 Event Calendar.
Please join me as we fight to “Preserve, Protect, Restore, and Respect” Placer County.
Supervisor, District 5
