Jennifer Montgomery, Supervisor District 5

I was born in Redwood City, California in 1961. I have two brothers, one step-sister (killed serving in the first Gulf War) and two fantastic parents. I have 6 nieces and nephews whom I adore and three god-children. I am married to firefighter/ paramedic Daniel Gomez and am a 22 year resident of Donner Summit.

I attended K-12 in Redwood City and Palo Alto and received my Bachelor of Arts in 1983 from Mills College in Oakland, California.

In 1987, I returned to college in Rocklin, California at Sierra College for an AA degree in horticulture. At Sierra College I developed a love for Placer County and its agricultural heritage, a love that leads me to protect and preserve that same heritage in my role as County Supervisor.

I met my husband in 1988 when I was a volunteer for the Donner Summit Fire Department and Dan was a full-time fire fighter. In 1991 we were married at Sugar Bowl and moved to our current home in Serene Lakes.

As a Summit resident, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a number of jobs which taught me many useful skills. Most recently, I owned my own business for 8 years, before that I worked for 10 years at Sugar Bowl, worked at the Sierra Business Council in Truckee, worked as a seasonal employee for the California Department of Agriculture and held a number of other jobs including light and heavy construction.

I have a strong commitment to listening and responding to the needs of the 5th District—I believe that community service is a higher calling and am dedicated to serving my constituents to the best of my abilities. I am honored to serve the voters and residents of the 5th District and look forward to many years of service.
