District 5 Benefit Fund
DISTRICT 5 BENEFIT FUND MONIES TO BE DIRECTED TO HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FOR UNMET CHILDRENS’ AND SENIORS’ NEEDS
Because of budget constraints faced by Placer County in the 2010-2011 fiscal year, Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery has asked that the District 5 Benefit Fund monies go directly to Placer County Health and Human Services to help fund county services specific to children and seniors. Therefore, the District 5 Benefit Fund Committee will not be allocating funds in 2010/2011.
"I have heard from many people throughout District 5 that seniors and children are suffering," declared Supervisor Montgomery. "I realize that the $20,000 from the Benefit Fund won’t meet all these needs, but it will help, and I can’t in good conscience ignore those needs."
Supervisor Montgomery requested the Board’s concurrence during budget hearings Aug. 19. The Board of Supervisors will finalize budget modifications during the final budget process in September, including specifying which services will receive the funds.
