Airman honored with prestigious Gen. Billy Mitchell award
Bruce Kranz, Placer County Supervisor for distruic 5, presented the prestigious Gen. Billy Mitchell award Thursday night to Eric Reams, Cadet Commander of Squadron 92 Civial Air Patrol.
The Civial Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and has three main functions, aerospace training, search and rescue and the cadet program.
Since 1964 the Mitchell award has been present to honor the late general and aviation pioneer.
The cadet program provides an opportunity for 12- to 20-year-olds to learn leadrship skills.
Reams was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant during Thursday’s ceremony.
