Placer County Supervisors have approved the language of a November ballot measure that would raise their annual pay from $30,000 to $48,000.
Supervisors Bruce Kranz and Kirk Uhler cast the dissenting votes in Tuesday's 3-2 decision.
The annual salary for Placer County supervisors has been frozen in the county charter since 1992 and can be changed only through a charter amendment approved by voters.
In addition to the pay increase, the ballot measure would add annual cost-of-living adjustments based on the consumer price index, but would not include any provisions for benefits, such as health, vision or retirement.
