PRESS RELEASE FROM DISTRICT 5 SUPERVISOR BRUCE KRANZ
Recent press reports about allegations of wrongdoing by the 5th District appointee to the Planning Commission have naturally resulted in a high degree of interest and inquiry at the Board of Supervisors office. Virtually all of these comments are directed to my attention. Although I would like to personally respond to each and every comment and question, that simply is not possible.
The allegations reported are of course serious charges. The County is taking these allegations seriously and resources are directed at investigating the matter thoroughly. Until the investigation is completed, it seems unfair in the system with a presumption of innocence to pre-judge the outcome or jump to conclusions. I fully support a complete and neutral investigation of the charges. However, I am not prepared to condemn someone until all of the facts are reviewed.
I recognize in politics allegations alone are sometimes justification enough to end the career of those who are political opponents. However, I believe most citizens recognize a complete investigation of the charges requires time, effort and diligence to get to all the facts and not just a quick political choice. I hope people will allow this process to complete its path.
