To Qualify for a Refund
You must pay the Fire Fee Bill first. It is recommended that you write “Paid under Protest” in the memo line of your check. Make a copy of your check so that you can enclose it with your “Petition for Redetermination” form as proof of payment.
You must complete a Petition for Redetermination Form within 30 days from the date on your bill see www.firetaxprotest.org. Read the form packet completely before filling out the application to be sure to complete all the actions required! If you agree to check Other Reason(s) (explain and provide documentation): , you may use the REASON FOR PETITION page provided in the “Petition for Redetermination” packet or explain your reason in your own words. Be sure to provide the documentation as explained on the EXAMPLES OF ACCEPTABLE DOCUMENTATION in the petition packet.

Send 3 separate copies of the Petition of Redetermination Form, the Acceptable Documentation and a Copy of Your Check as proof of payment in a stamped envelope to each address listed below:
