Revenue Sharing Funds

The Placer County Board of Supervisors has actively promoted revenue sharing funding, provided annually to each supervisor, as a means to provide financial support for non-profit and community organizations, to support events, programs, supplies, improvements, and equipment.

*Supervisor Bruce Kranz has chosen not to participate in this program due to the approval process.

Criteria for Requests

 

  • All requests must be in writing and submitted to the Board of Supervisors' office 175 Fulweiler Avenue Auburn, CA 95603.
  • Only requests from non-profit and community based organizations will be considered.
  • The request must include a detailed description of the intended use of the funds.
  • Requests will be reviewed by the County Supervisor from the district where the request is made, or by all five Supervisors if it is a regional request.
  • A County Supervisor may recommend the request be placed on an upcoming Board of Supervisors' hearing for approval or can request additional information or may choose to not support the request.
  • All requests must be publicly noticed for review and approval by the Placer County Board of Supervisors.

 

Disbursement and Use of Funds

 

  • Revenue sharing funding must be used in accordance with the approved request.
  • A letter from the Board of Supervisors office, outlining the restricted use of the funds, will be sent with each check.
  • The funds check must be made payable to the non-profit or community based organization which submits the request.
  • Revenue sharing checks shall be picked up from the Placer County Auditor's office and distributed by Board of Supervisors' staff unless other arrangements are made.

 

Funds Tracking

 

  • The County Executive Office reviews and maintains the database for revenue sharing funds allocated, by district.
  • The public may access the Revenue Sharing Binder kept in the Board of Supervisors office, which contains copies of the request, Board agenda summary action and the check.
