F. C. "Rocky" Rockholm, District 1
Supervisor Rocky Rockholm was elected to the Placer County Board of Supervisors in November 2006. He was sworn in as Supervisor, District 1 on January 8, 2007. He represents Western Placer Countyand portions of Roseville.
Prior to his service on the Board of Supervisors in 1998 he was appointed to the Roseville Planning Commission. Rocky was first elected to the Roseville City Council in November 2000 and served two years as Mayor Pro Tem prior to being sworn in as Mayor on November 26, 2002. He was again the highest vote recipient in the November 2004 election and served the first two years of his term as Mayor Pro Tem before being sworn in as Mayor of Roseville in November 2006.
Rocky has lived and worked in the Roseville/South Placer area for over 30 years. He worked for the City of Rosevillefor 15 years as a Police Officer and was promoted in 1992 to Sergeant until his retirement in 1996. He then worked as Security Program Manager for Hewlett-Packard’s Rosevillesite until retiring in October 2002.
Rocky earned a Bachelor’s of Public Administration in 1990 and a Master’s of Public Administration in 1993 from the University of San Francisco.
Rocky currently serves on the Criminal Justice Policy Committee, Flood Control & Water Conservation District Board of Directors, Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG), South Placer Regional Wastewater Authority – JPA, and Western Placer Waste Management Authority.
Rocky and his wife Dorothy consider being a grandparent their favorite hobby. They are the proud parents of 7 children, grandparents to 32 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Robert M. Weygandt, District 2
Robert M. Weygandt, a member of the Placer County Board of Supervisors for the last 12 years, lives on the same foothills ranch in rural Lincoln where he grew up. He represents the western portion of the county, including Lincoln, Sheridan, most of Rocklin and part of western Roseville. He has lived in Placer County for 45 years.
After graduating from Lincoln High School, he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in finance and management from the University of Southern California (go Trojans!). From 1979 to 2004, he was vice president, chief financial officer and part owner of WECO Aerospace Systems, an aircraft repair facility based in Lincoln. His other past experience includes service as a county planning commissioner, member of the county economic development board and community college instructor.
Today, Robert is avidly involved in Placer Legacy—a program to protect land, water and open space within the county. He is an avid outdoorsman who admits to be a fanatic fly fisherman.
Robert has a son Eric and a daughter Stephanie who both live and work in Placer County. He is a proud new grandpa—with granddaughter Haley, grandson Braden and another on the way!

Jim Holmes, District 3
Jim assumed his seat on the Board of Supervisors January 4, 2005. He represents the 3rd District, an area that includes Auburn, Ophir, Newcastle, Penryn and Loomis.
An Auburn native with more than 29 years of business experience, Jim has been dedicated to community service throughout his adult life, serving on:
- The Auburn Union Elementary School District Board;
- The Placer Consolidated Fire Protection District Board;
- The North Auburn Municipal Advisory Council, founding member;
- The Highway 49 Business Association, founding member;
- The Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce; and
- The Boys & Girls Club & Teen Center of
Auburn Program Administrator.
Jim went to local schools, graduating from Placer High School and Sierra College. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Humboldt State University.
He and his wife, Pat, have two daughters, Stacy and Amy, and a son, John.
Kirk Uhler, District 4
Kirk returned to the Board of Supervisors on Dec. 19, 2006 to fill the vacancy created after 4th District Supervisor Ted Gaines was elected to the State Assembly in November. At the Dec. 19 meeting, the four remaining board members selected Kirk from a field of five candidates who applied to serve the final two years of Gaines’ term. Kirk was sworn into office immediately after the vote.
Kirk represented the 4th District on the Board of Supervisors from 1993-96. He was only 25 years old when elected to the post, becoming the second youngest Supervisor in Californiahistory.
Kirk serves as the Vice President of Government and Industry Relations for Solar Power, Inc. In that capacity, he is responsible for monitoring and participating in legislative and administrative proceedings that impact the growing solar photovoltaic industry.
Immediately prior to joining Solar Power, Inc., Kirk was the District Director for a United States Congressman, responsible for all district office operations, budgeting, hiring and community outreach.
Kirk previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the Electric & Gas Industries Association. In that job, he directed the creation and development of the association’s for-profit subsidiary. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, Kirk had responsibility for five different business units employing more than 70 people.
Prior to Joining the association, Kirk was a founding employee of CarsDirect.com, where he set up and managed the company’s national dealership network. As Senior Director for Dealer and Industry Relations, he personally opened offices in 15 cities around the country. Additionally, he developed vehicle-sourcing protocols that helped CarsDirect.com secure its vehicle inventory at below-market prices. During his time at CarsDirect.com, Kirk trained and supervised approximately 200 field personnel, vehicle-locating specialists and sales staff.
Kirk has extensive media experience as well. He is a fill-in radio talk show host for the top-rated radio station in Sacramento, and has been a newspaper columnist and a radio news reporter.
A graduate of the Universityof Californiaat Berkeley, Kirk has been a Placer Countyresident since 1970. He is an Eagle Scout from Granite Bay Troop 121. Kirk and his wife, Tami, a former prosecutor with the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, currently live in Granite Bay. They have a seven-year-old daughter, Jacy, and a four-year-old son, Jaden.

Bruce Kranz, District 5
Accomplishments: Supervisor Kranz has actively led efforts to prevent catastrophic wildfires including: reforming the policies and regulations of Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, TRPA; invigorating Fire Safe Councils; pushing state and federal legislation to encourage biomass projects; spearheading and funding a biomass working group; and providing wood boxes for drop off of woody debris. Supervisor Kranz fought to get funding for Sheriff Bonner to purchase a new helicopter for law enforcement and fire protection. Supervisor Kranz joined Supervisor Holmes in producing a Meth CD for public education on the dangers of Methamphetamine. To improve citizen access and communications Supervisor Kranz established monthly coffees in Auburn, Colfax, Foresthill and North Lake Tahoe.
Service: Bruce Kranz's nearly four decades of public service has been dedicated to improving public safety, insuring better use and access to our natural resources and protecting property rights and taxpayers. He retired from the California Department of Parks and Recreation after serving as Superintendent, American River District. Bruce served Assemblyman Tim Leslie as Senior Field Representative and State Senator Sam Aanestad as Senior Consultant. Once elected (2004) to the Placer County Board of Supervisors Bruce's policy actions have been focused upon: preventing catastrophic wildfires and floods; preventing drug abuse; working for the economic and environmental well being of citizens in the Sierra, foothills, and Tahoe region (clean air, water, electricity, affordable housing, tourism, and jobs); protecting private property rights from regulatory excesses like eminent domain and taxpayers from excess spending.
Public Safety: Bruce has worked in public safety as a Life Guard, Park Ranger, District Manager, and Superintendent. He earned a Management Certificate from the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). Bruce's prior experience with law enforcement included work on the Executive Councils of the Placer County Law Enforcement Agencies, the Placer County Special Investigations Unit, and the Placer County Alcohol and Drug Five Year Master Plan. As a Placer Supervisor Bruce has concentrated on strengthening fire safe councils, served on the Criminal Justice Policy Committee; provided leadership on the development of a drug abuse prevention DVD, "It's a Fact METH is Our Problem" used by our public schools and community groups.
Environment: Bruce has fought to prevent the threat of catastrophic wildfires to Lake Tahoe's water clarity and human lives and property. Other environmental efforts include being Placer's representative on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, High Sierra Resource Conservation and Development Area, TahoeAirBasin, Tahoe Conservancy, MountainCountiesAirBasin, and the Solid Waste Independent Hearing Panel.
Natural Resources: Bruce's work on natural resources includes serving as Chairman of the American River Authority and member of the Auburn Dam Council and the Mountain Counties Water Resources Council. He has led efforts to build the Auburn Dam and to preserve the water, electricity and the taxpayer's revenue benefits of the Middle Fork Project to provide clean water and energy for the future without a tax increase. He has been a member of the Placer County Joint Chambers Tourism Authority
Regulatory: Bruce is concerned about the regulatory environment that can harm the economic well being of citizens. Bruce has served as PlacerCounty's representative on the Regional Council of Rural Counties, the Sierra Economic Development District, the Sierra Planning Organization, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, the High Sierra Resource Conservation and Development Area and the National Association of Counties.

Family: Bruce is married to Carol Kranz, a church administrator, and they have four children, Stacy, Charity, Spencer, and Allie. The family lives in Weimar.
