Jack Duran, District 1

Elected to the Placer County Board of Supervisors in June 2010, Jack has pledged to continue his long record of leadership by example.

Before serving as supervisor Jack was the President of the Roseville High School District Board of Trustees, an accomplished business attorney and Placer County Peer Court Judge, who has lived and served in our community for over 25 years.

Jack moved to Roseville at age 18, attending Sierra College and working as a truck driver for UPS. After putting himself through CSU Sacramento and the McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated with honors, he served as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice before transitioning into private practice.

From ensuring oversight of taxpayer approved school bond funds, mentoring area youth and working with local law enforcement to reduce juvenile delinquency, Jack has been praised as one of Placer County’s most trusted voices on issues of fiscal responsibility, education and public safety.

Jack and his wife Kim have been married for 17 years and live in Roseville with their two sons—Jared and Jakob.

Robert M. Weygandt, District 2

I have been a member of the Placer County Board of Supervisors for the last 14 years and live on the same foothills ranch in rural Lincoln where I grew up. I represent the western portion of the county, including Lincoln, Sheridan, most of Rocklin and part of western Roseville. I have lived in Placer County for over 45 years.

After graduating from Lincoln High School, I earned bachelor's and master's degrees in finance and management from the University of Southern California (go Trojans!). I was vice president, chief financial officer and part owner of WECO Aerospace Systems, an aircraft repair facility based in Lincoln. My other past experience includes service as a county planning commissioner, member of the county economic development board and community college instructor.

Today, I am avidly involved in Placer Legacy—a program to protect land, water and open space within the county. I am an avid outdoorsman and admit to being a fanatic fly fisherman.

I have a son Eric and a daughter Stephanie who both live and work in Placer County. I am a proud grandpa—with granddaughters Haley, Sydney, Madison and grandson Braden.

Kirk returned to the Board of Supervisors on Dec. 19, 2006 to fill the vacancy created after 4th District Supervisor Ted Gaines was elected to the State Assembly in November. At the Dec. 19 meeting, the four remaining board members selected Kirk from a field of five candidates who applied to serve the final two years of Gaines’ term. Kirk was sworn into office immediately after the vote.

Kirk represented the 4th District on the Board of Supervisors from 1993-96. He was only 25 years old when elected to the post, becoming the second youngest Supervisor in Californiahistory.

Immediately prior to joining Solar Power, Inc., Kirk was the District Director for a United States Congressman, responsible for all district office operations, budgeting, hiring and community outreach.

In that job, he directed the creation and development of the association’s for-profit subsidiary.  Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, Kirk had responsibility for five different business units employing more than 70 people.

Jennifer Montgomery
District 5

Jennifer Montgomery was elected District 5 Supervisor in November, 2008. District 5 extends from North Auburn and Foresthill in the West, to the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. It is geographically the largest and most diverse district in the County. District 5 has just one incorporated city within its borders, the City of Colfax.

To accommodate for the vast amount of unincorporated area in the district, District 5 has six Municipal Advisory Councils, which meet monthly throughout the district. These MACs, which serve to advise the Board of Supervisors, meet in North Auburn, Foresthill, Meadow Vista, Colfax, Squaw Valley and North Tahoe.

Jennifer is a 20-year resident of Donner Summit and, before joining the Board of Supervisors, she ran her own business in Serene Lakes. She is married to Dan Gomez, a North Tahoe firefighter.

It is important that your voice be heard. Please contact the office at any time if you have questions, concerns, or would like to get involved with shaping your county government.
