Duran Appoints Former Roseville Mayor as Planning Commissioner

For Immediate Release
January 11, 2011

Auburn, CA – Placer County Supervisor Jack Duran today appointed former Roseville mayor and longtime public servant Richard Roccucci as District 1 Planning Commissioner. The appointment occurred at the first Board meeting of the new year. The vote was unanimous.

“Richard is a tremendously respected public servant and deeply committed to the community, its residents and stakeholders,” said Duran. “He shares my commitment to transparency, open communication and fiscal responsibility.”

The meeting was Duran’s first as the County Supervisor from District 1, which covers most of the City of Roseville and parts of unincorporated western Placer County. Duran was elected to the office in June, 2010.

Roccucci is a longtime Roseville resident who has served as mayor, city councilman and city planning commissioner of Roseville.

“I am honored by Supervisor Duran’s and the board’s decision,” Roccucci said. “I look forward to this new opportunity to serve Roseville and Placer County.”

District Planning Commissioners are tasked with evaluating development, land-use and planning issues in the unincorporated areas of Placer County.
