Air Pollution Control
The Air Pollution Control District (APCD) is a special district created by state law to enforce local, state and federal air pollution regulations. Our vision is to achieve and maintain clean air standards throughout Placer County. In April 2000, the Board of Directors adopted the APCD's Mission Statement.

Notice of Public Hearing regarding the proposed adoption of a 2014 RACT SIP Analysis Report, dated April 2014
A proposed negative declaration that there are either no sources, or no sources that exceed RACT guidance emission thresholds, for the polyester resin source category addressed by EPA Control Technique Guideline documents “Control of Volatile Organic Compound Leaks from Synthetic Organic Chemical Polymer and Resin Manufacturing Equipment” (EPA-450/3-83-006 1984/03) and “Control of Volatile Organic Compound Emissions from Manufacture of High-Density Polyethylene, Polypropylene, and Polystyrene Resins” (EPA-450/3-83-008 1983/11). The public hearing will be held at the regular Placer County Air Pollution Control District Board of Director’s Meeting on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 2:30 PM, at the Placer County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 175 Fulweiler Avenue, Auburn, CA.

Advisory Notice for Gasoline Dispensing Facilities with Aboveground Storage Tanks
Owners/operators of existing aboveground storage tanks (AST) are required by California Air Resources Board (ARB) regulations to upgrade to Phase I enhanced vapor recovery (EVR) by June 30, 2014. However, ARB is considering an exemption for existing ASTs with annual throughput of less than 60,000 gallons from the Phase I EVR upgrade. This amendment of ARB regulations will not be completed until well after the June 30, 2014 upgrade deadline.
Due to this regulatory uncertainty, Placer County Air Pollution Control District will not enforce the June 30, 2014 deadline for ASTs that had less than 60,000 gallons throughput in 2013. This will allow owners/operators of these tanks to avoid upgrading equipment that may be exempted in the near future. If the ARB final regulation does not exempt some, or all of these tanks as anticipated, the District will allow 90 days after ARB’s amended regulation goes into effect for owner/operators to complete the upgrade
to Phase I EVR. The Advisory can be found here.
