How Can We Help
Our staff is committed to providing you with a high level of service. The following list explains some of the ways we can help you.
Locate a Parcel Map
The Assessor establishes and maintains a set of maps for every parcel of property in the County for assessment purposes. These parcel maps serve as the basis for the assessment of all real property in Placer County and are continuously updated to reflect new subdivisions and surveys.
Search the County GIS System
The Assessor builds and maintains the base map layer for the county Geographical Information System (GIS). Property Information is available from various departments in the county. The GIS system can be searched by either parcel number or address.
Understand Your Assessment Notice
The Assessor completes an assessment roll by July 1 each year showing the assessed values for all taxable property.
Estimate Your Supplemental Tax Bill
We provide a way to estimate the amount of supplemental taxes you may expect to pay if you have recently purchased a property. This online tool is for changes in ownership only and not for new construction.
Review Property Characteristics
Use our online tool to look up property characteristics, values, ownership information, and maps. You will need the 12 digit Assessment Number or Fee Parcel number.
Apply for Tax Savings Programs
California property tax law provides a number of ways individuals and businesses can reduce their property tax assessments. The Assessor must apply all legal exemptions and exclusions.
Find Forms and Brochures
We provide forms and brochures on-line to save you time, and help you understand how our office can assist you.
