Any amount of support paid can help make the difference in your child's life.
Important news about your child support payments.
Starting February 6, 2012, disbursements will be applied to the new MasterCard EPC for participants who have received and activated their card.

The new toll free number for the State Disbursement Unit is:

Electronic Payment Card Changes
Changes are coming to the State Disbursement Unit in January that will affect your electronic payment card. These changes are due to a new banking service provider.

Your electronic payment card is changing to a new MasterCard debit card. New features to your MasterCard account include:
  • Deposit notifications
  • Low balance alerts
  • Savings discounts at major retailers with MasterCard Marketplace
  • A new toll free number (855) 252-6630 is available to answer any questions you may have
You will need to activate your new card by calling the toll free number on the face of the card. Once activated, child support payments can be added beginning February 6, 2012. Do not destroy or throw away your existing debit card; you may continue using it as long as funds remain.

Compromise of Arrears
/upload/css/images/logo.gif   Do you owe past due child support to the state? You may be eligible to settle your debt for less than what you owe.
In certain child support cases, the law allows for a parent to pay less than their total child support debt owed to the government. This is called a compromise of arrears.

Child Support
is the money a parent is required to pay for the support of their child. The money helps provide the other parent with funds for food, clothing, shelter and other basic needs of a child. It can also provide the means for activities and sports that enhance a child’s life. Our department exists to help parents meet the needs of their children. Whether you are a parent requesting support or a parent who needs to provide support we assist with both.

The Placer County Department of Child Support Services has a strong commitment to children and families. It is shown in the work we do every day and in our community efforts. Our goal is for children to get the support they need for a greater chance of success.

Types of services we provide:

  • Locate a parent
  • Establish paternity
  • Establish, modify, and enforce a court order for child support
  • Establish, modify, and enforce an order for health insurance coverage
