The Gold Country Museum IS CLOSED
The Gold Country Museum is closed, but not for long! We will be reopening in a new location at the end of the year.
Don't worry though, the new museum will still have an indoor gold panning stream, a mining tunnel, as well as a bunch of new exhibits that will bring the Gold Rush history of Placer County to life!
The new museum will be located at 601 Lincoln Way in the old Auburn Depot Building downtown.
Gold Rush Program
Our fourth grade tour will not be on offer this fall, but is scheduled to return in late spring.
The Gold Rush Program is a two-hour interactive program targeting fourth grade state curriculum standards, concerning the Gold Rush, using museum exhibits and primary resource material from the Placer County Archives.
This tour is available in winter and early spring.
For more information or to reserve a date for the Gold Rush Program for your class or school, call 530-889-6506. The cost is $5 per student.
