Bookmobile History

The Placer County Bookmobile was established to provide library services to the rural areas of the County. On October 19, 1970, the Bookmobile made its first scheduled stop at Kingvale. It was replaced once in 1984 with a new Gerstenslager Bookmobile. The Bookmobile has traveled over 300,000 miles checking out books, magazines, and paperbacks; filling requests and distributing information; and library users of all ages.
