Supervision Services

UAIC lowres

The Placer County Probation Department's ability to supervise offenders, enforce program rules and regulations has been enhanced with the ability to access and distribute information electronically through the use of iPads made possible by a grant from the Thunder Valley Casino. The use of the iPads has reduced the time spent returning to the office and processing information, i.e. contacts notes, photo capture and referrals, etc. Furthermore, it has increased probation officers' ability to provide evidence based programming so we can assist these offenders in addressing their criminogenic needs and deterring them from criminal behavior.

The Placer County Probation Adult Supervision Services is responsible for supervising all adults placed on formal probation by the Placer County Superior Courts. Within this division, cases are assigned geographically by risk, as well as to specialized caseloads based on specific crimes committed. Each case the department receives is given a risk assessment taking in to account the types of offense committed and an individual’s criminal history resulting in their risk for re-offending. Once assessed, the case will be transferred to the appropriate field supervision caseload.

Supervision is an integral part of probation services. The protection of the community through the enforcement of terms of probation or program rules is our primary responsibility. Adult Supervision Services probation officers assist probationers with integration into the community as law abiding individuals. The Adult Supervision concept allows the probation department to facilitate delivery to those probationers needing services and monitor the progress of persons on probation. Probation officers refer offenders to community service programs; monitor a probationer’s restitution requirements and compliance, and ensure that the probationer complies with their formal Court orders.

Payment of restitution can be made by contacting Revenue Services, 916-543-3900: http://www.placer.ca.gov/Departments/Admin/Revenue.aspx.
