Foresthill Evacuation Center to Close; Red Cross Seeking Any Residents Who May Need Additional Sheltering Assistance

Mandatory evacuation orders for the Brushy Creek and Yankee Jims communities will be lifted, effective Wed., July 18, 2012, at 9:00 a.m.. Coinciding with the reopening of these two areas that were affected by the Robbers Fire, the evacuation center at Foresthill High School will also close, also effective Wednesday morning at 9:00.

South of the community of Iowa Hill, a complete closure remains in effect for Shirt Tail Canyon Road at Big Dipper Road.

The American Red Cross, which has operated the evacuation shelter in conjunction with Placer County Health and Human Services, wants any residents who anticipate needing assistance with sheltering to contact the Red Cross.
