Road Closures Easing as Fire Crews Containing Robbers Fire

July 19, 2012

As firefighting personnel continue to make progress on containment of the Robbers Fire, road closures are being eased and will soon be lifted completely.

As of 10 a.m. Fri., July 20, 2012, all closures will become Level 1, meaning roads are only open to residents and other local individuals. The Level 1 closures will be at Yankee Jims Road at Canyon Way and again at Gillis Hill Road. On the eastern side of the fire, another Level 1 closure will be at Yankee Jims Road and Small Hope Mine Lane.

Near the community of Iowa Hill, Shirt Tail Canyon Road at Big Dipper Road will move to a Level 1 closure. South of Iowa Hill, Kings Hill Road will also become a Level 1 closure on Friday.

On Sat., July 21, 2012 at 10 a.m., all closures will be lifted and all roads will be open. Residents and visitors alike should be aware that there are still fire vehicles and crews working in the area, and that there could be residual road damage and still smoldering fire areas that could impede vehicle travel.
