Community Meeting Set for Proposed Biomass Project

March 02, 2012

Placer County has proposed developing a biomass power generation facility near the Eastern Regional Material Recovery Facility at Cabin Creek. The proposed biomass power generation facility would be located on county-owned land off State Route 89 between Squaw Valley and the Town of Truckee.

Placer County, in partnership with the Community Collaborative of Tahoe Truckee, will host a community meeting on March 13, 2012, to provide information on a health impact assessment that will be conducted on the proposed biomass energy facility. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 305 Squaw Valley Rd., Olympic Valley, First Floor Community Room, located at the west end of the complex. The meeting starts at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to run until 1:00 p.m.
