Placer County is looking to fill three vacancies on its Building Appeals Board.
The vacant seats are for:
- A representatives of physically disabled residents;
- A fire official; and
- A representative of the 2nd Supervisorial District.
All Appeals Board members must be qualified by experience or training to pass upon matters related to building construction.
The deadline for submitting applications is Nov. 30.
The Board of Supervisors will fill the vacancies. In the case of the vacancy for a 2nd District representative, 2nd District Supervisor Robert M. Weygandt will review the applications and recommend a candidate for approval by the full Board of Supervisors.
The Building Appeals Board serves as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors. It hears and decides appeals of County Code interpretations made by building inspectors.
The Appeals Board also has the authority to determine the suitability of and authorize the substitution of materials and types of construction equipment other than those specified in County Code and State Housing Law.
When full, the Appeals Board has nine members. Some members are appointed to two-year terms and some appointments are for four years.
Meetings are scheduled as needed to hear appeal requests.
