The Placer County Charter Review Committee will hold a meeting in Auburn Wednesday, April 10.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Conference Room A at the Placer County Administrative Center, 175 Fulweiler Ave. The public is invited to attend the meeting and provide input to the committee.
The committee was created last year to review and evaluate the County Charter, a governing document approved by voters in 1980 that provides a level of flexibility in local decision making. The charter also contains provisions that guide the county’s organizational structure and duties and responsibilities of elected and appointed officials.
Any recommendations for changes or additions proposed by the committee will go to the Board of Supervisors for review. Changes supported by the board will go to county voters for consideration.
The County Charter requires the Board of Supervisors to convene a Charter Review Committee every five years.
