Tahoe Community Plan Update Town Hall Meeting Scheduled for January

December 27, 2013

As part of continuing efforts to update the Tahoe Basin Community Plan, Placer County will host a January Town Hall Meeting to gather public comment on the recently released Community Plan Policy Framework – a document that includes draft goals and guiding policies that will frame up the Tahoe Basin Community Plan, and to provide North Shore residents with an update on the work Placer County has accomplished to date. Participation in the Town Hall meeting is encouraged. The meeting will be held on Wed., Jan. 29, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., at the North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd., in Kings Beach.

The County is currently asking for feedback on the goals and guiding policies in the Policy Framework document. Comments received before Feb. 1, 2014, will be considered in preparation of the Public Review Draft of the Community Plan Policy Document. There will be additional opportunity for residents to comment on policies after publication of the draft Tahoe Basin Community Plan Policy document in spring 2014.

When complete, the Tahoe Basin Community Plan will guide growth and development in Placer County’s portion of the Tahoe Basin. It will also provide natural resources and environmental protection and enhancement. The Policy Framework document is a result of public input received from a series of workshops hosted by the county last fall.
