Planning Meeting Sets Stage for Upcoming Three-Day Public Workshop to Develop Long-Term Goals for Kings Beach
July 05, 2013
A meeting in Kings Beach last month helped set the stage for an upcoming three-day public workshop that will help develop a plan for successful long-term environmental, community and economic benefit for Kings Beach. The Vision Plan, the culmination of several years of public input, has been shaped with ideas and goals developed by this North Tahoe community working closely with Placer County Planning staff.
| Kings Beach.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend any of the July public workshops, which are known as the Kings Beach Vision Charrette. Public participation will be instrumental in shaping the future of Kings Beach.
The Vision Plan is part of Placer County’s efforts to update its Community/General Plans in the Tahoe Basin. The county intends for the workshops to build upon the foundation established through the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s (TRPA) Pathway 2007 and Placer County’s Tahoe Community Plan Update. The efforts will create a Vision Plan illustrating the possibilities for the future of the Kings Beach commercial core and recreation areas as they evolve over the next 20-plus years.
The planning process intends to engage a broad audience to confirm the outcomes of the work done to date and provide an opportunity to generate new ideas that consider elements such as environmental restoration, prosperity, connectivity, recreation, quality of life, and new opportunities afforded with the Regional Plan Update and the Kings Beach Commercial Core Streetscape Improvements.
The three-day Kings Beach Vision Charrette (Workshop Series) will be July 16-18, 2013, at the North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd., in Kings Beach. Below is a schedule for the public sessions where there will be opportunities for input:
