Placer County is inviting the public to attend a grand-opening ceremony for Dry Creek Community Park set to be held Wednesday, June 19.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. The 34-acre park is located at 9245 Walerga Road south of Dry Creek and west of the city of Roseville.
“I hope Dry Creek residents will join us to celebrate the opening of their new park,” said 1st District Supervisor Jack Duran. “The county’s Facility Services Department did a great job listening closely to residents during the planning process and developing a first-class park that meets the community’s needs and expectations. I urge residents to find out for themselves by attending the June 19 ceremony.”
Supervisor Duran, the Dry Creek area’s representative on the Board of Supervisors, heads the list of speakers scheduled to take part in the grand-opening ceremony.
The park’s features include two tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, a basketball court, tot lot, picnic pavilion and a restroom and concession building.
With the addition of the new community park, the Dry Creek area now has 35 acres of developed parks and 198 acres of open space. New bicycle and equestrian trails were constructed through the park and connect to the extensive trail network in the area.
