Final Budget Approval, Auburn-Folsom Road Widening Project Before Supervisors at Next Week's Meeting

The Board of Supervisors will be asked on Tuesday by county executive office staff to approve a final budget for fiscal year 2013-14. The Board will conduct a public hearing on the budget totaling more than $720 million. The Board has held numerous workshops and meeting this year on the county’s annual spending plan and the budget presented to the Board on Tuesday will be the culmination of those meetings. The budget items are scheduled to be heard at 9:45 a.m.
In other items before the Board at their meeting, the Supervisors will be asked to accept an annual report from the Older Adult Advisory Commission from the last fiscal year. The Commission each year informs the Board of activities on matters relating to services promoting well being and quality of life for older adults. This is a timed item that is scheduled to be heard at 9:30 a.m.
The Department of Public Works will ask the Board to approve a contract for the North Phase of the Auburn Folsom Road Widening Project. This will be the last phase of this project which, when finished, will make Auburn Folsom Road a four-lane thoroughfare from Douglas Boulevard in Granite Bay to the Placer County/Sacramento County line.
Also on the meeting agenda, the Board will be asked to approve a resolution commending Gary Powell for his 35 years of dedicated public service as an employee of the Placer County Assessor’s Office.
