Public Service Instead Of Coffee Service; Supervisor Montgomery to Help with Cleaning of Gold Country Fairgrounds

September 06, 2013

Supervisor Jennifer MontgomerySupervisor Jennifer Montgomery has cancelled her monthly Auburn coffee and instead will assist with cleaning the Auburn fairgrounds after this weekend’s Gold Country Fair. She is asking that the community come and work alongside her on Monday.

The coffee, normally held the second Monday of the month in Auburn, is an open forum where the public can ask questions of the supervisor and express concern on the many topics of interest in Montgomery’s Fifth District.

The open forum format will still be available, but as the supervisor helps the Auburn 49er Lion’s Club clean the fairgrounds after the annual three-day event.

“The Gold County Fair is a great venue for a small-town fair,” said Montgomery, whose Fifth District includes the City of Auburn. “Like many other small-town events, they are having financial issues. By giving of our time to do public service where it’s needed, we can help preserve these things that we love about Placer County.”

The Gold Country Fairgrounds are located at 1273 High St., in Auburn. Supervisor Montgomery will be there at 9 a.m. on Mon., Sept. 9, 2013, meeting in front of the Fair office. Everyone is welcome and the community’s assistance will be appreciated.
