Board of Supervisors to Meet Tuesday, Sept. 24

September 20, 2013

Next Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors will hold a regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 9 a.m. in Board Chambers, 175 Fulweiler Ave., Auburn. At the meeting, among other items, the Board will be asked to:

  • Adopt a resolution proclaiming October 2013 as the Placer County Combined Giving Campaign Month and approve voluntary employee participation in the Campaign where employees may make donations to the charities of their choice through payroll deductions;
  • Present Auditor-Controller Andrew C. Sisk with a Certificate of Achievement Award for excellence in Financial Reporting;
  • Designate the week of Oct. 5 through Oct 13, 2013, as Celebrate PlacerGROWN Week. The request by Agricultural Commissioner Joshua P. Huntsinger is to encourage support of local farmers and ranchers by purchasing locally grown agricultural products; and
  • Award a construction management contract for the first phase of the Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project. The $44 million Project will revitalize Kings Beach through storm water management programs, fresh and new streetscape designs and traffic-calming measures. The project is centered around a three-lane design with roundabouts and limited on-street seasonal parking.
