King Fire Update Available at Tuesday Meetings

The Placer County Board of Supervisors will receive an update Tuesday on the King Fire, and be asked to proclaim a local emergency. The fire, burning in forestlands in Placer and El Dorado counties, has consumed more than 87,000 acres. Smoke from the fire is causing air quality to reach unhealthy levels throughout the region.

The Board meeting will start at 9 a.m. and a live streaming video feed of the meeting is available. To access the live stream, click this link after 9 a.m.: Meeting. Information will also be available at the Truckee Town Council Meeting on Tue., September 23, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be in the Town Hall Administrative Center, 10183 Truckee Airport Road, Truckee.
