Placer County Parks Commission seeks to fill vacant seat representing Lincoln, Sheridan area

Published on November 23, 2016

Placer County has great public parks and recreation areas, and we need your help to make them even better. The Placer County Parks Commission has a vacant seat representing supervisorial District 2, including Lincoln, Sheridan and parts of Rocklin. If you live in District 2 and have a passion for recreation and the outdoors, you’d be a great fit.

The parks commission serves to advise the Placer County Board of Supervisors on everything related to public recreation projects. The commission also provides advice to Placer’s parks division. It’s comprised of seven members, with four representing county supervisorial districts 1 through 4, and another three representing the larger District 5.

The commission meets the second Tuesday of every other month at the Placer County Government Center in North Auburn. Commissioners are paid $30 per meeting up to a maximum 18 meetings per year, and are reimbursed for expenses incurred as a result of commission duties.

Interested candidates may complete an application (PDF) and return it to the Clerk of the Board, 175 Fulweiler Avenue, in Auburn, 95603.
