Seeking To Fill Seat On Sheridan Municipal Advisory Council

Published on May 08, 2014

Placer County is accepting applications from community members interested in filling a vacancy on the Sheridan Municipal Advisory Council.

The Placer County Board of Supervisors has not set a deadline for filling the vacant position, but hopes to do so soon. Second District Supervisor Robert M. Weygandt will review the applications and recommend a candidate for approval by the full board.

“Being an advisory council member is a great way to serve the Sheridan community,” Supervisor Weygandt said. “I pay close attention to what is said at meetings and the recommendations that emerge. The meetings also help me keep constituents informed about what I’m doing on their behalf and what is happening throughout the county.”

Commonly known as MACs, the county’s 14 municipal advisory councils advise the Board of Supervisors on issues of public interest in unincorporated areas. The councils are charged with gathering public comment on a range of topics, including land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement and public health and safety.

Members of the Sheridan MAC must reside, own property, or own or manage businesses within the MAC’s boundaries. It generally meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in Stewart Hall, 6005 Camp Far West Road.

More information and a map of the Sheridan MAC’s boundaries are on Supervisor Weygandt’s website.

Download the application form or call the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office at 530-889-4020 for more information.

Completed applications should be delivered to the Clerk of the Board’s Office in person or by mail. The office is located at 175 Fulweiler Avenue in Auburn and the mailing address is 175 Fulweiler Avenue, Auburn, CA 95603. Applications may also be scanned and emailed.
